Hospital...

Well, I was in the hospital all day yesterday. Let me tell ya, it was real fun. That morning I had to take team pics for cross country and the whole time I was doing that, I felt like I was going to pass out and I had an extremely sharp pain in my abdomen. Danielle (my roomie) got on the internet and researched my symptoms and said she was taking me to the hospital. I really didn't want to go, but at that point I couldn't feel my body and still don't know how I didn't pass out. So I got to the ER at 11 and admitted pretty quickly, which was a relief because the only comfortable position was when I was doubled over. After the doc gave me an IV and some pain meds I felt a lot better, but then I had to spend 2 hours drinking a dye solution because I had to get a CT scan done to make sure I didn't have the beginnings of appendicitis. Turns out I didn't, but I do have a cyst on my ovary and they think that I had another one that had burst, causing all the pain. Now I have to lay off all physical activity until I can see an OBGYN. I'm still not feeling 100% and Kourtney the mother hen, is taking great care of me. She stayed with me the whole 5 hours I was in the hospital. Oh and I forgot to mention that I was stuck in the psych room, so there was NOTHING but a bed and chairs. It was pretty depressing :/ But I should be better soon and I'll keep an update going. Until then...

My Runners

I totally forgot to blog about my girls! They competed at State the last full weekend in July in San Antonio. I am sooo proud of them for what they achieved over the course of the summer. Here's how it went:

Erin: Erin is like my pride and joy haha. She's 13 and going into the 8th grade this school year. I started coaching her last year and realized then how much potential she has then. Well this year she didn't prove me wrong. She got 6th at state, but this girl was competing at a dance camp for a week straight before state. She danced 8 hours a day for 5 days then had to run...pretty amazing if you ask me. Her offical time at state was 5:43 in the 1600m, a 7 sec PR (personal record)
Hillary (my asst coach) Erin, and me

Lauren: Lauren is 14 and she only started running with me half way thru the summer. She is a really sweet girl and I'm excited to get to coach her next year. She was at volleyball camps all summer and track when she wasn't there. She ran a 6:15 in the 1600m, but I know next year will be a whole new year.

Lizzy: This girl is pretty amazing too. She's 12 but she is forced to run with the 14 yr old age group because of when her birthday is. She PR'd by almost 20 sec in the mile this year and close to 15 in the 800m. I'm excited to watch her as she gets older, because at this rate, she's going to be pretty awesome.

BEST WEEK EVER!

So, coming off of my week from hell that I last blogged about, God truly blessed me :) Here's how the week went:

Monday: I swam, went to class, and then went to work. While at work I get a text from my dad saying he would be in Waco and wanted to see me. I had some stuff to do after work, but I hadn't seen my dad since the 4th so I decided to do them later, so we planned on meeting at Elite Cafe. Well, I'm sitting there looking for my dad's car when all of the sudden, he knocks on my window. I get out of my car and my whole fam (minus James) is there! A total surprise! Well, we starting walking over to what I thought was going to be my parents car, but when we got over to their spot, my dad hands me a pair of keys and said, "I want you to drive YOUR new car." I went totally berserk. I screamed, jumped around, and started crying. Needless to say, I was just a little bit surprised.

This is Melanie, Mel for short :)

Ok, Tuesday: I got my pay check. Other than that it was a typical day. Oh besides the fact that my lover FINALLY came home! In case you're wondering, that would be Kourtney, and no, we aren't lesbians.

Wednesday: I finally got around to decorating my room with some really cute stuff, thanks to Kourt's help. Now it doesn't look empty in my huge room.

Thursday: Well, this was supposed to be a REALLY good day. James was supposed to come see me, but unfortunately he got sick and couldn't make it. It kinda sucked too because Kourt left to go to Houston, but it wasn't a bad day.

Friday: Same ol, same ol but I had a good day, nothing terrible happened at least.

Saturday: Same...

Sunday: I drove up to see my parents for their 23 anniversary, which almost fell thru because they weren't there when I got home. But luckily I got to see them before I left for the Rangers game. I went with my old friend, O'Shay, and tho I don't really like baseball, it was fun.

Soooo that's my awesome week. Now all I have to look forward to is school starting :/ oh well...until next time

Craziness

Well I've had one heck of a week so far, and its not even over yet :/
Here's what happened:
Well last Friday I went to my grandparents out in the country to see my fam since I'm too busy to see them at any other time. I hung out with one of my friends from Baylor that lives down there too and had the time of my life with him that night :)

Then Saturday I had to come back to Waco because I had to host a last minute recruit. I really didn't want to because I wanted to stay and see my family and James, but duty calls...so I had my recruit or whatever and that was pretty fun. She was a really sweet girl and it would be great if she came here.

Ok, Sunday is about the same as Saturday.

Now its Monday....Monday was not good. My recruit left, I went to class, and I had to start working at the clinic again. That's my typical life, so whatever. THEN I get to my weekly meeting for summer track and I am informed that I will not be able to attend the state meet this weekend because I had class. WTF?! I worked my butt off this summer and have trained those girls myself, only to have to stay in Waco while they run at state...I don't think so. I was so upset I could barely think, let alone coach my girls that night. Well when I told the parents, they went into a frenzy because their girls don't know what to do when I'm not there. That's when one the dads offered to pay for me to get a hotel room. Soooo I was going, thankfully. Then I get home and Mike (my ex) starts talking to me about how much he misses me and all this stuff. My head was spinning out of control already and then that. THEN, one of my really good friends from high school calls me because he was suicidal. That was one of the scariest things I've been thru in a long time. So I told him to get his butt down to Waco (he lives in Tyler) because he didn't need to be alone. Ya, that pretty much wraps up my Monday.

Now its Tuesday, and it was ok except for the fact that I had to study for my test the next day and juggle the other aspects of my life as well. That went ok, until Robert Griffin came over and wouldn't let me study, so I kicked him out of my house. Oh and I was doing laundry all the while...not fun.

So Wednesday rolls around and I study a little that morning, and go to the clinic, then take my test. Oh did I mention that James was going to come thru Waco to see me? :) Well we went to lunch and talked and hung out and it was great. Then back to the clinic, then I had to run on the stupid G Trainer, then I had practice. While I was at practice I found out that I would not be getting paid this weekend unless I rode with one of the most annoying guys I know, and stayed with the team....not cool. So I had to call the parents of my girl and ask them to cancel the room. Then I sat at home by myself and watched So You Think You Can Dance.

Ok, now its Thursday and once I'm done working at the clinic, I'm going to Dallas to see Kourtney. I have to leave early tomorrow, but I don't care. I need to be around people, and I need to be out of Waco for just a bit.

And breathe haha. I will blog about state to inform about my girls :) Until then....

Track and Boredom :/

Well, I'm a coach for summer track and my girls ran yesterday and today at the Regional Meet. The top 3 get to qualify to go to state, and of my 6 runners, I have 4 going to state! I'm excited for them! And ALL of my girls p.r.'d (got personal records for their times) Needless to say, I was really proud :) I worked my butt of too because Waco hosted the meet and we had almost 1000 athletes competing. I worked a total of 16 hours in the sun :/ but hey, I got paid well for it!

Now that I'm finished working for the weekend, I have been at home watching a Harry Potter marathon. Yes I am a nerd and I don't care who knows it. If only all of the Twilight movies were made so I could be watching my love. Oh well, in due time :)

Well, I have Harry to get back to. Ta ta for now!

Lonely

Well its official. I'm alone. Kourtney left last week, Ang hasn't been here since who knows when, my brother left yesterday and Michael left today. Talk about emotional. Oh and one my roommates, Danielle, left on Sunday not to return til AUGUST 15! And my other roommate left today. Ah yes, and my one true love (Kourt you can get over it) Trey, left on Sunday also. Guess who else, most of the cross team that was here for first session, including some of my close friends left this week too. ITS TERRIBLE! So thankfully Kourtney is nice enough (a statement not usually said about her hahahahaha!) to leave Bagheera with me for a while so I have someone to at least talk to. But he prefers to sit in the window sill instead of cuddle with me. Sooooo now all I have left is work and running, which could be good for my running; I can get in stellar shape since that's all I have to do. Oh ya and read. I'm going to make a list of all the books I've read this summer and post it later. It will be interesting I'm sure. I should do that with movies too. Ok, I'm rambling so I'm done for now.

Work

Yes, I am going to complain for a little bit. I have been working all day for the past two weeks and it sucks! Kourt will probably read this and roll her eyes, but it's summer! I have two jobs, one with a physical therapist (internship, no money) and one coaching summer track (pays, thankfully). I have to start school next week too :/ this should be interesting...Oh and ALL of my friends are leaving me, but I will blog about that hardship as it comes haha. Until later...
